24 December 2008 :: "Happy Holidays!" []

The Strokes.com has been updated with this lovely Christmas greeting. Lets hope 2009 is the comeback year for the band. Thanks to everyone that visits this site I know updates have been few this will hopefully change when the band hits the studio in February - news should start to pick up!

10 December 2008 :: "VOTE FOR HARD TO EXPLAIN!"

The sister forum for this site, the great Hard To Explain is involved in a competition on Absolute Radio. The forum made it past the opening stages but now its facing off against a Green Day forum and they have a lot of fans.

To ensure The Strokes, the forum and the play list members created for the comp wins please vote for The Strokes (Hard To Explain) from DECEMBER 11TH 9.15PM (GMT)), voting is only open for like 24 hours so it is important to vote and keep on voting!!

24 October 2008 :: "BACK!" []

Oh yes I am alive! And slowly it seems so are The Strokes. Word according to Nikolai is they are definitely regrouping in February, couldn't come sooner for me, its been two years now since their last gig and almost 3 since any new material, the wait has been tough, lets hope we see some fruits of their labour sometime next year.

I've been updating the gallery quite a bit today, added a new category for the solo projects such as Albert, Little Joy and Nickel Eye. Plan to write a couple pages on them as well in the near future.

Ok so I was completely unaware of this but Nikolai is doing a solo project, called Nickel Eye! (lolz best name ever), the album will be released in the fall and its called The Time of the Assassins.

Some more info
Nikolai plays all the instruments (on Dying Star at least) except the drums and guitar
Nick Zinner (of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs) plays guitar on Dying Star
The songs were played on Mark Ronson's radio show, and here are the rips (has some of Mark talking over it)

Missing the vocals of Mr Casablancas? Well check this song out, My Drive Thru is a collaboration with Julian Casablancas, Santogold, and Pharrell Williams for the 100th anniversary of Converse. My opinion? Damn well catchy, great song for the summer.
