Julian Casablancas would like a word
Many people wondered why The Strokes had a media blackout when Comedown Machine was released last year but really it seems pretty obvious to me judging by any headline from the past week or so.
The media loves a bit of drama when it comes to the band, anything a member says gets repackaged into this Big Thing. The Strokes have had the problems in the past which they don’t deny but I can’t imagine the way the media handled them during Angles gave them any confidence to be remotely honest and open.
So really seeing Julian Casablancas ‘rant’ (his word not mine) on Twitter is completely refreshing. He clarifies a few things he has said in various interviews of late and it feels like a statement of righteous truth.
